Under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management) Regulations 2011 (Cth), administered by NOPSEMA, a Well Operations Management Plan (WOMP) is required if you are drilling an offshore well.
A WOMP describes the well (design, construction and operation), the risks associated with the well and the management systems in place to ensure risks to the integrity of the well as managed to ALARP.
The knowledge we’ve acquired over many years with regard to well blowout prevention and management is particularly helpful in the preparation of WOMPs. One of our HSE & Risk Consultants was involved in the response for the Montara well blowout in northwest Australia in 2009.
Our HSE & Risk Consultants have prepared many WOMPs for all well lifecycles ranging from drilling, completion, suspension, production and plug and abandonment. We have also prepared compliant WOMPs for onshore and offshore jurisdictions and State and Commonwealth waters.
